Auto Trim Design ("ATD", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through atdlondon.ca, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It is written to meet our obligations under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which applies to commercial activity in Ontario, and under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Who is responsible
Auto Trim Design is the organization responsible for the personal information under its control. Questions, access requests, and complaints can be directed to our Privacy Officer using the contact details at the end of this policy.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote and complete your work.
- Information you give us. Your name, phone number, email address, vehicle or property details, project description, and any photos, artwork, or files you attach to a quote request.
- Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we collect standard technical data through cookies and analytics: IP address (truncated where possible), browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, referring site, and approximate region.
- Communications. Records of emails, texts, and calls with us relating to your project.
We do not collect payment card details through this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Why we collect it
Under PIPEDA we must identify the purpose of collection at or before the time we collect. We use your information to:
- prepare and send quotes, and answer your questions;
- schedule, complete, and warranty the work;
- keep your artwork on file so repeat and fleet units match;
- send service updates about your project;
- send marketing emails, only where you have opted in — every message includes an unsubscribe link, as CASL requires;
- understand how the site is used so we can improve it;
- meet our legal, tax, and insurance obligations.
We will not use your information for a new purpose without your consent, unless the law permits or requires it.
Consent
By sending a quote request you consent to us using your information for that request. Consent for marketing email is separate and always opt-in — the checkbox on our forms is unticked by default. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice; withdrawing consent for marketing will not affect work already underway.
Cookies and how to control them
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use two kinds:
- Necessary cookies make the site work — they remember your cookie choice and keep forms functioning. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics and advertising cookies are set by Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel, and are optional. They load only after you accept them.
When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies. Neither runs until you accept. You can change your choice at any time using the button below, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the site — which pages are read, which services draw interest, and where people leave. This helps us improve the site. It is not used to identify you personally.
- What it collects: pages viewed, session length, referring source, device and browser type, approximate geographic region, and a randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie.
- IP addresses: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. IP data is used to derive coarse location and is then discarded.
- Consent mode: analytics tags are blocked until you accept analytics cookies on our banner.
- Transfers outside Canada: Google processes this data on servers that may be located outside Canada, including in the United States. While there, it may be accessible to foreign courts and law enforcement under the laws of that country. PIPEDA permits such transfers where comparable protection is in place; we tell you so you can decide.
- Retention: analytics data is retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
- We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, or Google Signals, and we do not sell any data.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit by installing Google’s browser opt-out add-on. Google’s own handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Meta pixel
We use the Meta pixel, a snippet provided by Meta Platforms, to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. Like analytics, it loads only after you accept on our banner.
- What it collects: pages viewed, actions taken on the site such as submitting the quote form, device and browser type, and a randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie.
- Consent: the pixel is blocked until you accept. Declining keeps it off, and you can change your choice at any time.
- Transfers outside Canada: Meta processes this data on servers that may be located outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to foreign courts and law enforcement under the laws of that country.
- Your controls: you can limit ad targeting in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, and decline on our banner at any time.

Who we share information with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only where necessary:
- with service providers who host our website, deliver our email, or process analytics, bound to use it only for those purposes;
- with suppliers or subcontractors where a job requires it, limited to what the task needs;
- where required by law, court order, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that do not become jobs are kept for two years. Records of completed work, including artwork files, are kept for seven years so we can honour warranties, reprint matching graphics, and meet tax requirements. Analytics data is deleted after 14 months. Marketing consents are kept as long as you remain subscribed, plus three years, as CASL requires.
How we protect it
We use physical, organizational, and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information: locked premises, access limited to staff who need it, password-protected systems, and encrypted transmission of form submissions. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used;
- ask for a copy of it;
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions;
- make a complaint about how we handled your information.
Write to our Privacy Officer and we will respond within 30 days, as the Act requires. There is no charge for a routine access request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.
Links to other sites
Our site links to third-party sites such as Google Maps, Instagram, and Facebook. Once you follow those links you are subject to their privacy policies, not ours.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The revised version takes effect when posted, and the date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
